Will watching only Spanish TV Channels help me understand and learn more Spanish?

Question by .: Will surveillance only Spanish TV Channels help me know and learn more Spanish?
I have been doing it for the last day now and I am currently in Spanish II. Do you reckon it is going to help or am I just wasting my time? Also do you have any thoughts for learing quickly and very excellent? I speak, write, and read Spanish and I am excellent for my age everyone says but I need it to be better. Any helpful input would be fantastic! Thanks.

okay, so i know ALOT of spanish and i usually may possibly know.. but the other day i met my boyfriends abuelo, and boy may possibly he talk AND FAST, usually i may possibly make out what they are saying, but NOT THIS TIME. i need help.. in 7 days im going to honduras to meet my boyfriend’s family, they know NO english and i need to be able to converse with them.. can someone delight tell me a FREE program that i can learn very quickly, i know all the basics i just need to know how to keep exchange and really stuff we would talk about! thank you so much!

what you have to do is watch a LOT of spanish tv so your ear can get used to the different sounds… i have no thought of ant free method to learn a language thou… sorry!

im 13 and 1 year ago i went to Spain, i go to a local spanish school, and i have to learn spanish and everyone said that it would take me 6 months to 1 year but its been 1 year and i still have problems with it, how can i learn it quicker and am i taking too long?

Try talking with more of the natives. I’m sure that they’ll be pleased to help you out, even if you sound a bit weird to them.

Try surveillance more TV, and if it helps, with captions. Try to look up one word in the dictionary and memorize it for the rest of the day. Read the newspaper, even.

In all, just go out and talk. Without practicing, you won’t get anywhere. As long as you get your point across, people will know what you’re talking about.

Thesis: My proficiency in five languages reflects my travel experiences and appreciation of different cultures.

From snowy mountain ranges of Himalayas to the congested, bustling setting of Manhattan, I have experienced lush, memorable experiences in diverse environments. I bought many useful skills, such as ability to speak multiple languages, during my global travels. And my travels highlighted to me the similarities among people from different cultures. Similarly, my proficiency in five languages reflects my travel experiences and appreciation of different cultures. I have found each of my learned language to be intrinsically unique and akin to others: Arabic’s dependence on roots; Spanish’s similarity with Latin languages, such as English, and Arabic; Urdu/Hindi’s evolution from Turkish, Farsi, Arabic, and African languages; and English’s distinct intonations.

As a child, I remember trekking the Himalaya’s extremely windy terrain with friends. I used to visit Hindu and Buddhist monuments situated in steep hills, and reveled in the nostalgic emotions they invoked in me. I often dared to solely venture to high placements in the range that did not have paved routes to get an adrenaline rush. My favorite memories of that period includes running against gusty winds in expansive highlands, without worrying about life’s stresses.

In elementary school, I went to Dubai and lived there for six months. It was the first major metropolitan city that I visited. My first impressions of Dubai were of overt amazement. It provided a quick transition from sandy dunes to gorgeous beaches to an urban setting with awe-invoking, tall structures. I was also impressed by the residents’ congenial hospitality toward foreigners, and the acceptance and harmony of Islamic and Western cultures. Dubai provided me with exotic memories that I still clearly retain today.

After Dubai, I went to Toronto, and it provided a stark contrast to Dubai. Unlike Dubai where majority of population was either Arab, of Indian origin, or European/American, Toronto housed people from every nationality. Toronto introduced me to cultures that I had once perceived as mysterious. I visited the extremely crowded China town, where Chinese replaced English on business posters. I dined on spicy Chinese food whose sharp taste contended even traditional Indian foods’. In downtown Toronto, cuisines from every nation crowded the avenues. I particularly remember intake Argentinian, Jamaican, and Lebanese dishes. Toronto was my introduction to a melting pot society.

In the end of 4th grade, I went to New York City, where I first lived in Bronx, but later went to Manhattan as my mom started a medical residency. New York was a defining environment, because even though life was harsh, I loved living there. In New York, I detected an accepting—more of an indifferent—temperament. Poor people sat next to executives and CEOs on packed underground subways, and everyone accepted each other. Surprisingly, even though Manhattan was congested with people and buildings, I felt free. After school, I roamed local forests with friends, visited Chinese antique stores, walked on mossy rocks in the Hudson River, etc. New York was an adrenaline trip; its paradoxical environment was confining, yet liberating; and perilous and exhilarating.

After NYC, I went to Boston, and fell in like with its academic air. I lived near Harvard Square, and I used to religiously visit the area. I played chess against undefeated masters, remarked at the ordinariness of Harvard’s buildings, and skated in a local park. Boston was moderately populated compared to Manhattan, and it did not offer the wide variety of ethnic cuisines that NYC did. Though, surveillance weary, yet dedicated college students study in local cafés incited in me a passion to study. I also visited anime conventions and Boston’s various museums evenly. Undoubtedly, Boston imprinted its depression on my identity.

I continued to go to different places internationally and nationally. I lived in rural KY and TN, suburban Ohio, and icy Saskatchewan in Canada. I also visited many states in US, including FL, CA, AR, ME, MI, and IL. I first learned Hindi and Urdu in Kashmir, Arabic in Dubai, Spanish in US, and English in Canada. My diverse experiences have made me an adaptable, culturally aware, and accepting party. My travel experiences show me that all humans are inherently akin. We all have akin problems, we all learn to cope, and we all have a concealed need to live. Aside from our cultures, we are more akin than we might realize.
I posted this before but it was deleted for some reason. I need to submit this college application essay for review tomorrow, so delight offer honest, unbiased opinion on its structure, constructions, and other aspects. Also, tell what you like/dislike about it. Delight also deliberate that this is a descriptive/narrative essay, not a rhetorical one, so it is not thesis oriented. I hope that it also helps you to form thoughts for your existing work. Thank you for being a excellent Samaritan.

This is very well written, though I feel that you left out an occasional ” the ” and I don’t reckon that English is derived from the Latin.

OK, I will give you a paragraph by paragraph synopsis….

Paragraph 1…a “the ” in between of and Himalayas, another between as and ability, drop the word And from ” And my travels ” ( a condemn shouldn’t start with the word And ), add an ” s” to the word language, where you say ” my learned language”, Where you say, ” such as English, and Arabic ; I’m not sure about Arabic, but I believe the English Language has it’s roots in Germany….ok, I don’t reckon Arabic belongs here either, because you went on to include it again on the same line where you speak of Urdu/Hindi…I believe it does belong there.

Paragraph 2…drop the ” s ” in the word includes, while you have the word ” memories ” which is plural, you are referring to only one memory.

Paragraph 3 is perfect.

Paragraph 4…you should say ” where the majority of the population ” and I reckon China town can be made into one word…Chinatown

Paragraph 5…should start with the word ” At ” , Bronx is always referred to as ” The Bronx “, as a NYC resident for over 50 being, I know this…lol…and there are no ” local forests” there to speak of. Are you referring to the city’s parks ?

Paragraph 6 is perfect

Paragraph 7 ….you should say ” in the US ” and not in US, you also might want to spell out the names of the various states you mention, instead of just the abbreviations, but that’s up to you.

While you may find my suggestions to be trivial, I feel that they will improve the overall feel of your essay, you did say some college person will be reading this ?
